My name is Gabrielle Dougherty. I am a tenth-grade student, and I attend the general program at Canterbury High School. I take public transportation every day to get to and from school, but I am not eligible for a bus pass, even though my parents are divorced and my father lives in the school zone while my mother lives farther away. I am fortunate that I can pay to take the bus every day, but it's expensive. It wouldn't be hard to imagine someone who could not. You should look into this because this is an issue affecting more people than just me. Fifty percent of all children in North America experience the divorce of their parents. Why am I not eligible for a bus pass, even though one of my parents is far enough away?
Thank you for your time,

Gabrielle Dougherty
