FOKIDA

The prefecture of Fokida is located in central Central Greece, with its capital the historic city of Amfissa, which is bathed by the waters of the Corinthian Gulf. The landscape is characterized by intense alternations, created by the mountains Giona, Parnassos, Vardousia and Oiti. It wasis famous for the most important oracle of antiquity, the oracle of Delphi, designated by UNESCO as a "World Heritage Site" located in Delphi. HeFokida also had the greatestmade a great contribution to the Revolution of 1821, with the fighters Athanasios Diakos, Odysseas Androutsos, Panourgia, Giannis Diovouniotis, Makrygiannis and others. The close distance of Fokida from Athens, the great historical monuments, the wonderful beaches of the Corinthian Gulf, the remarkable tourist infrastructures and the picturesque settlements make it an important tourist resortdestination.
