I am writing this email to bring up some points as a person who is on furlough and going through redundancy at the same time. I have already brought it up in my consultation sessions with HR, and we agreed I should talk to you regarding this matter and get your opinion about it.

I have been on furlough since April
, and normally I don’t check my work emails regularly. Unfortunately, I didn't receive the invitation to your last business updates and missed your session. Last week, when I got the news about my position being at risk of redundancy, it came as a massive shock for me, I was not expecting it.

The consultation process of my redundancy
has been started since last week, and there are 2 points that I discussed in my sessions and I am going to share with you to see if we could find a solution to make it fair, while we are at the stage of terminating my job.

FirstThe first point is about the salary reduction scheme that I was volunteered to be part of the scheme, to help and support Hamleys at thea time when Hamleys was going through a tough time. My intention was to support the business to save jobs. To be honest, I woulddid not expect toI would be in a redundancy position in 3 month timemonths later.

I understand it was a voluntary scheme, I accepted it
, and we cantcan't go back in time,; however, I would like to kindly ask your opinion about ifon the following: could Hamleys could ethically and voluntarily support me back while I am in this tough and unexpected situation? Is it possible for Hamleys to pay me back the deducted amount as a gesture of goodwill on top of any redundancy payments that I am entitled? to?
