The concept of male social workers is not properly presented in the society because of the gender and traditional customs surrounding the career (Galley 2014). First, the number of male students enrolled in social works major is extremely low compared to females, since most of them drop out, citing unfavorable conditions. Male students are not acceptable for this job since they are not able to understand and analyze problems that women and children suffer from, who are theconstitute most of the clients. Furthermore, the social status, as well as the amount of payment that is offered for this job, is not satisfying for male’smales' needs. Also, males graduating from social works major want to work onin other fields for their status and economic life. The author concludes that males need to take a role in social work and give support to different families.
