She shook silently in her crutches. Her warm breath looked like thin smoke coming from her mouth. “It’s dark.” Her voice echoed off the empty buildings. Everything was either vacant, broken or burnt. She'd run her hands over her old home. The little girls face wrinkled up with disgust. Her house had been burnt down. Her mind filled with miserable thoughts: had her family made it out? She rushed briskly to the back to the house. Opening the half-burnt down door, a horrible smell filled her nose. Her eyes widened with fear. She had never smelt this before, and yet she knew what it was. It was revolting. She rammed the door closed, with a livid expression. Trying to ignore the fact she found a dead person, she left the house. Her leg began to throb agonizingly. She fell to the ground with a thud. Curling up in a ball she pulled her beanie over her eyes. Small streams of water started to flow from her eyes.
