Black male rappers and artists often shame dark-skinned women for their skin color, while encouraging other black men to mistreat them. However, there is one artist who counters the views on dark-skinned black women. She embodies the lives of African AmericanAfrican-American women, and restores them to their authentic selves, through her album, Lemonade. Her name is ‪Beyoncé‬. ‪Beyoncé‬ opens ‪the doors‬doors, and gives dark-skinned women the authority and voice to redefine the prejudice.
In the past, and still to this todayday, dark-skinned women have been invisible and abused in America. Today’s black musical artists continue to shame dark-skinned women by having these music videos that solely feature women who are very light-skinned or non-blacknot black and have these
