First of all, it can be seen that the share of expenditure for housing was the most considerable. It is higher than 20% in eachevery country. In this category, the United States shows the highest indicator – about 26%. By contrast, the Canadian share of expenditure for housing is the lowest – 21%.
In accordance with the amount of spending, the second category is food. Surprisingly for me, the leader here is Japan – 23%. Then comes the United Kingdom with 20%, and Canada with the United States have approximately the same indicators – about 15%.
Moving to the next category – transportation. Among 4 countries, the share of expenditure for transportation in Canada is on the top – 20%, while the Japanese one is twice smaller than the Canadian.
And the last two categories are healthcare and clothing. American people spent more money on healthcare than people in other countries, especially in the United Kingdom. The share of expenditure in the United States is 7%, while spending in the UK is less than 3%. In the clothing spending of the United States and Japan is at the same level of 4%. The United Kingdom and Canada also have similar indicators – 6%.
