Each discourse community has mechanisms of communication. Those mechanisms can vary by each discourse community. The ways of communication in an academic discourse community would be verbal communication and writings, such as emails, notes, memos, and so many more. This helps me to communicate with my peers, since we will know what we are talking about, and will probably be talking about the same things. Thoese are also ways to communicate with the professors. Having participatory communication is also very important, because we are giving our professor feedback on whether we know the material, andor if we need help in a specific area. It also helps us to see what we, as students, have in common.
