When I was little I didn't think much about what I wanted to be. I was like most kids when I was younger, impressionable and annoying, with very little knowledge of the world. I didn't want to be a doctor or an astronaut, or even a lawyer like other kids around no ime. No, I wanted to be different: I wanted to be a police officer for 2 reasons 1 being. Mainly because I watched a lot of shows when I was little and in those shows the cops were presented as heroes that upheld the law and would always help those in need. I should also mention the manysome of these superheroes shows such asshows: Teen Titans, Batman, Justice League Unlimited, Superman, Spider-Man, and many other showsothers. But I knew I couldn’t come close to doing what any of the heroes in those shows could do, so I looked toand police officers whichseemed to me wereto be pretty close seconds. I told my mom about my interest, in theand she was surprised by this mostly because previously iI was obsessed with the idea of being a conductor because- I was absolutely obsessed with Thomas the tank engineTank Engine. I remember her saying something along the lines of “it’s“It’s gonna be tough”, and if I recall correctly I said something along the lines of “but“But mom, it’s such a cool job”. and iAnd I think that aboutthat sums up why I wanted to be a police officer It’s, because I was just like those kids thatwho wanted to be astronauts and doctors.
